Shoalhaven Heads is located at the southern end of
Seven Mile Beach and Gerroa is at the northern end. There is plenty of accommodation to be found as well as a good selection of dining choices and stores for local shopping.
Seven Mile Beach National Park extends from the northern end of the beach to Shoalhaven Heads.
The park is a sanctuary for a huge variety of birdlife and is used to study sand dunes with their vegetation.
The fishing is excellent with whiting in the summer months plus flathead, mulloway, tailor and salmon.
Coomonderry Swamp borders the park to the west and is the only semi-permanent freshwater wetland on the south coast.
There are two walking tracks south of the main picnic area that lead inland to a bush camping area with limited facilities at the northern end of the park.
At Beach Road, on the northern end, there is a wooden viewing platform and walkway with excellent beach access for the disabled.
Surf is good at Seven Mile Beach all year round with left breaking waves from the northern end over the reef.
