Manly Ferry
Manly is "7 Miles from Sydney and 1000 miles from care". This was the slogan used by the Port Jackson & Manly Steamship Company in 1940 to describe “Australia’s Premier Seaside Resort”. No visit to Sydney is complete without a visit to the high energy seaside suburb of Manly.
View of Sydney from the Manly Ferry
The 7 nautical miles on the Manly Ferry across the magnificence that is Sydney Harbour is the original and still best way to travel, arriving at Manly Wharf – a brand new food and wine oasis at Manly Cove. Since 1855 ferries have been plying this spectacular route between Circular Quay and Manly and today you have a variety of water transport options. Sydney Ferries’ famous Manly Ferry is a "must do" for visitors and the ferries ply the 30 minute trip regularly, day and night. Try the Manly Jetcat which takes 15 minutes to do the one way trip. Other options include a Water Taxi or Water Limousine with Water Taxis Combined. Wear sunscreen protective clothing and a hat!
