Entertainment Quarter Sydney
The Entertainment Quarter Sydney, near Centennial Park, is not exactly a beach. However it is a very welcoming place to drop into on your way home from the Beach. The parking is excellent, with the first 2 hours free. After 6pm the charge is fixed at $6. Lost tickets $20! Lifts to all carpark levels. The one thing I really enjoy is the total absence of road traffic. It is possible to walk the wide boulevards and window shop without a care in the world. The Fox and Lion is my favourite pub. It often has live entertainment and a great beer garden. The bar staff are relaxed and friendly. My great pleasure is cold beer, watching the passing crowd and enjoying the company of good friends. It can get a little rowdy but I enjoy the high energy and friendly ambience. Order food from the menu at the Bar and it is delivered promptly to your table. If you enjoy a more refined atmosphere try the 'Fuse' across the way. It is more gentile and upmarket. The Fuse is always my choice if the "Fox and Lion' is overflowing. Or if I need to create an impression! Up the road a bit you will find the third pub bar - "Strike". It does strike me as a place for younger people. And it is well patronised. All in all an adventure in pubs!
A great new fitness centre has just opened - "Total Body Conditioning". I have joined and get to park my car for free (2 hours). After the work out I often enjoy a first class coffee at Bay Swiss or catch a movie at Hoyts or the Paris Cinema. Attila (the "Hunk") Reman, the owner of TBC, is a good friend and all round nice bloke, so pop in and introduce yourself. Don't forget to mention Gary from Aussie Snap Shots and ask Attila for a discount. |
